“Navigating Opioid Response Through Harm Reduction”

The NORTH☆ Public Health team works with Local Public Health Agencies (LPHAs) across Missouri that want to distribute free naloxone to individuals in their communities (patients, clients, neighbors, family members, etc).

We supply our agencies with naloxone, printed materials, fentanyl test strips, and Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND) Training. Our team also provides technical assistance to support our partners in their program development and distribution efforts.

Public Health Programming Objective:

The NORTH☆ Public Health team’s programming objective is to establish Missouri’s LPHAs to serve as secondary naloxone distribution sites to individuals in their communities.

Funding:

NORTH☆ is funded through the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) through the support of Opioid Settlement funds that were awarded to the State of Missouri in 2021.

These funds have been provided to our team to help with coordinating a statewide “hub” for naloxone distribution across the state of Missouri.
